Attracting Visitors to your
website
I'm sure the big question
you have is "How do I get
visitors o my website".
I have been asked this
question so many times I
have lost count, whenever I
give a Internet Marketing
Conference the number one
question that always
surfaces is "I need
traffic now, HOW DO I GET
IT???"
Millions of dollars are
spent every year on
auto-surf, automated,
pop-up, pop-under, and email
traffic - unfortunately most
of this money you will never
see again and you probably
wont ever see a return on
the investment. I hate
pop-up, pop-unders, spammed
email, and if I was a member
of an auto-surf website I
would probably take a shower
while it was surfing.
Studies show that I'm not
the one who despises these
methods of advertising. If
your luck you may see an
increase in your alexa
ranking based on traffic but
other than a stupid graph
chart saying that you
receive visitors you have
not sold one single item
from your site!!
|
3 main things
search engines
look for when
ranking a
website. |
1. Your Website
How well is your
website
designed, does
it load fast? Do
you have any
pop-ups on the
main loading
page? Do you
have well
written title,
description, and
keyword
meta-tags? The
list goes on but
you get the
general idea.
2. Traffic
How much traffic
does your
website receive?
The more traffic
you get the more
valuable your
site is to
search engines
and they will
rank you higher.
3. Back-Links
How many
websites link to
you? This is
arguable the
most important
of the 3, if you
have more
websites
pointing to your
website it is
more likely to
be found by
search engines
over and over
again thus
making the
search engines
believe that you
have a very
popular website
that is talked
about a lot, so
they want to
rank you up at
the top. |
The
best way to get relevant
visitors...
1st of don't spend a
dime on these websites
claiming to bring visitors,
unless you are looking to
get a quick Alexa boost.
- I
recommend using your
local Association of
Commerce or Visitors
Center. If you become a
member they will often
add your link to their
directory.
- If
you have a radio or TV
ad be sure to blast your
websites name over and
over.
- Find
companies that
compliment your business
not compete with you and
ask the webmaster of
those companies to trade
banners with you. You
would be surprised at
how willing people are
to add links
-
Advertise on your local
TV or Radio stations
website. These websites
produce a very high
quality traffic base and
they bring in
individuals from all
walks of life. They also
often get crawled by
search engines on a
daily basis so the
chances of your site
getting better rankings
is very probable.
- Use
Text & Banner Link
brokers. If you find the
right company they will
do the hard work for you
and find the right
businesses that work for
your company.
- Be
sure to consistently add
and change pages
throughout your site to
keep the site active.
RSS is one of many great
tools for this action.
